How to stop/disable dataguard for maintenance on server?

11.2.0.4

Hi,

We have a dg configuration (Active/passive) that I need to stop as the PRIMARY server is going down for maintenance. The standby will not be used during the maintenance window.

What is the best way to stop data guard Before we shutdown the server?

Using DGMGRL and just:

DISABLE CONFIGURATION;

and when the server and database is up again:

ENABLE CONFIGURATION;

Or how should I do this?

Regards
