how to start Apex 4.0 service after server reboot
hi everyone,
we have a problem at our company. in March this year, a freelance DBA installed an 11g Enterprise Edition database together with Apex 4.0 on a HP-UX Unix server.
I have since inherited this Database. ever since then the server was running and everything worked fine. the connection to the workspace login looked like this:
http://dk-minos:7778/pls/apex/f?p=4550:1
dk-minos is the server name, 7778 the port.
this morning the server was patched and restarted, but the Apex service is not running!!
i looked at several different forums and online documents, nothing seems to work.
i know that in our old 10g database, where 3.2 Apex was installed, we just had to run the following
$HTTPHOME/opmn/bin/opmnctl startall
but, the new 11g installation does not seem to work this way. i don't even see a "opmnctl file, and can't find any dads.conf file, so i have NO idea how this guy installed and started Apex 4.0.
now the freelancer is gone, no documents as how to start the service... i wouldn't even know how to change the port if i had to.
i also looked at the EXEC DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT(7778) command, that did nothing. actually, just before the server was rebooted, i saw that a select DBMS_XDB.GETHTTPPORT from dual result 0, so that means HTTP wasn't in use anyway. still, the Apex was running.
i read you can set the port and password with apxconf.sql, but does that start the process??
i don't want to reconfigure anything, just start the service.
the 11g database is up and running, listener works fine, and apex is valid in dba_registry...
what to do? anyone have experience with this?
regards,
Mike
