We have Oracle 11g in our production environment. We take backups of relevant schemas before changes in application configurations. The command used is
expdp uesrname/password \
directory=<directory_name> \
dumpfile=<dump_file> \
logfile=<log_file> \
schemas=CRESTELWOMUAT601 \
The backup is touching almost 2 hours for 1 main schema. This schema size is expected to multiple by a factor of 5 in the next 1 year which would mean that this backup could be touching 9 hours which is prohibitive. My query is how to speed up this export, I checked online but not much help. Compression could be one factor to improve?
I hope my question is clear of how to speed up the backup using expdp.
