How to speed up DG setup during DB migration across Data centers?

abhinivesh.jainSep 23 2016 — edited Oct 3 2016

Dear Experts,

I have 5 TB database to be moved to another Data Center (DC) and have limited downtime of few hours (4 hrs) hence I am going to use Data Guard based migration to do this quickly. Now my existing DB has standby database as well hence for new DB also I need to create standby database and new DB and its standby should be ready before go-live in 4 hrs time. This can't be done considering the backup time, transfer time and restore time, itself will go for nearly 48 hrs. Now my question is, what can be done to make this Data guard setup faster for newly migrated DB so that it finishes in 4 hrs time?

DB version is 10204 and it is hosted on RHEL 5.7.

Business has a requirement that source DBs (primary and standby) should not be touched and be available for rollback.

Thanks,

Abhi
