How to simulate and handle 500 internal server error in ADF application?

Hello,

As part of application security, we need to write custom error message for 500 internal server errors in our ADF application (hosted by webcenter portal).

We need to know how to simulate 500 internal server errors in ADF applications and how to handle these exceptions.
