How to shutdown log4j

Hello,

I know this question is not strictly about java, but I don't know where to ask, so if anyone can help I will appreciate it greatly.

I just want to know if it's necessary to shutdown Log4J when your application ends and how to do it.

Is there some official documentation about it?.
