How to show reload icon while refreshing charts

yetiJul 27 2015 — edited Jul 28 2015

Hi there,

in my actual page i have an IR and a chart based on the data shown in the ir. when the user applies a filter in the ir, the data in the chart changes. to accomplish that, i retrieve the filter condition from the ir, rebuild the chart query an refreesh it in a DA fired after regrion refresh of the IR.

so far, so good. now my problem:

the chart query is a kind of long running. which means it takes about 30 sec. to get the data. first time the chart is shown it say "loading data". so the user knows he (or she) hast to be patient.

but during refreshing the chat region and re-executing the query the old values are presented. as long as the new query is running. after the query is finished the chart is refreshed, the new data are presented.

what i want is to give the user some kind of information, that new data is being loaded. either by clearing the chart before starting the new query or by showing any kind of reload icon or text.

can you give my some advice how to achieve one or the other goal?

greetings

Peter
