How to show error massage by specific button click event ,

Hi,
JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
I have created upload form, it contains multiple buttons and some InputText fields, i keep them required=true.
I want to show error message only when i press upload button and if InputText are blank.
but error message get displyed whenever i press any button on form.
