How to set Oracle SID on oracle 10g R2 database

Dear Friends,

I am New to Oracle and installed Oracle 10g R2 on Windows 2000 server and i am not getting the Enterprise manager console n the browser
When I issue the following command i am getting this error message
c:>emctl status dbconsole

Environment variable ORACLE_SID not defined. Please define it.
