how to send regional lanuage(local language) sms using java via gsm modem/

hi all
i want to send sms in regional(local) language like tamil,hindi,etc..
now i am sending sms in english using java via gsm moden...
how to send regional language sms via gsm modem?
i have edge modem to sending sms..
how to use to regional languge character in java?
help me......
