How to send email on port 587

916827Feb 10 2012 — edited Feb 13 2012
I'm running APEX 4.1, Oracle XE 11g, Tomcat 6, Ubuntu 11, and MS Exchange 2010. I'm trying to send mail from APEX through my Exchange server and I get the error: ORA-29279: SMTP permanent error: 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type

I believe this is because my Exchange server requires HTTPS. From what I've read I need to setup a wallet to manage the certificates in order to create HTTPS request to the Exchange server.

I can't find anything about setting up Wallet Manger to actually view and import the certificates, everything just assumes that owm or orapki is installed! I don't have them and can't find out how to install them.

Can someone please point me in the right direction or let me know if there is a better way to send email from an APEX app through an Exchange server that requires HTTPS?

Thanks much!
