How to save null value when nothing is selected in the Yes/NO checkbox

I have to use yes/ no checkboxes for few fields in the apex form.

I have created a Yes/No_LOV and I the type is checkbox.

Now I when I do not check anything, I do not see anything displayed in the report but when I go to edit the record, I do see the default value as NO.

I want Null as the default value in the editable record when nothing is selected.

How can I do that.
