How to run APEX application on another server

Hi All,

We're currently running APEX on Oracle 11g (EPG) and we've an application that we would like to run online (internet) but our DB said it's not recommended to have outsiders access our database. So he suggested running it on a webserver (Tomcat).

How will I implement a link between the webserver and the database so that people can access the application?

Your suggestions and guidance will be highly appreciated.
