How to reset the Timeout of an already sent notification

Hi,

We need to reset the timeout of a already sent notification.

There is one notification with already the timeout set for 2 days.User want to have button(HOLD Button) in the notification and once he clicks that button from notification then the timeout which is set to 2 days has to be updated with no time out.

Please give your advice on the possibilities to reset the timeout variable which is set to 2 days to No Timeout.
