How to rename a plan type in a Classic Planning application

JBM_In_AusMar 4 2015 — edited Mar 5 2015

All,

One of the plan types within one of our Classic Planning applications has not been used in a while. Recently, a new business requirement has surfaced whereby this unused plan type could be used again ... but it would first need to be renamed to avoid any confusion. There are very few forms pointing at this unused plan type + there is practically no data in the cube for the unused plan type in question + there are no ODI-related processes updating the plan type in question.

I've read the following 2009 thread which explained what to do to rename a plan type within a Classic Planning application:

... but would prefer not to manipulate any back-end tables, records, etc.

Being on Oracle Hyperion EPM v11.1.2.3.50x now, does anyone know if there is a more user-friendly way (ie, without having to manipulate the back-end tables, records, etc) to rename a plan type in a Classic Planning application?

Also, what are the potential risks\issues one might encounter when renaming a plan type?

Many thanks in advance,

JBM
