How to remove the standby database

Hi,

I have been asked to remove the standby database ( running in mount state) of my primary database. Both primary and standby are running on 8.1.7.4
Can anyone suggest the exact steps with commads, i need to follow to remove the standby database without creating any issue with my primary database.

Any quick help shall be highly appreciated.
