How to remove partition from existing table and add into to another table

Rajan SwApr 23 2018 — edited Apr 23 2018

Hi ,

I have a transaction_journal table which is range partitioned on monthly basis and  we need to archive this table to transaction_journal_hist in the same schema or it can be in another schema

The reason is whenever required we can restore a particular partition back to transaction_journal table from history table .

Please share me ant docs or steps to achieve this .

The current version of DB is as below :

Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production

PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

"CORE 11.2.0.4.0 Production"

TNS for Linux: Version 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.4.0 - Production

Will appreciate any better thoughts or approaches to achieve this .

Thanks in advance !!
