How to Refresh Show & Hide Region

Hi,

I would like to know, how to refresh the show & hide report region only.

My recuirement:

In a parent window, I have employee field following with icon to open the popup page. User opens the popup page to search and selects the employee, While selecting the employee all the employee related values are populating into parent window. This is working fine.

In the parent window, I have one more region (Hide & Show Report Region). I need to refresh this region when user selects the employee in popup page.

I do not want to refresh the parent window calling doSubmit in popup page. Is there is any way, I can refresh the parent window without submit option (something like AJAX)
