How to reduce memory usage for Oracle XE

Hi,
I've installed Oracle XE 11g on my Windows XP machine.
The default installation when running takes up over 500MB, which is killing my PC.

Is there an easy way to reduce the memory usage?

I just need to read and write to a small database, I don't really need all the extra functionality that Oracle presumably provides (given that it needs so much RAM).
