How to obtain default email client settings on Windows and Mac

Hi,
I am new to JAVA. Is there a way to obtain information about default email client on Windows(Outlook) and Mac(Mail) either these have been configured or not? How many email addresses these clients have been configured for and what are their POP3 and SMTP addresses? Any help would be appreciated.
