How to mount cd rom drive manually on Solaris 8 Intel ?

I am novice with Solaris. I have problem using volume manager to access Oracle 8i installation cd contents. Some expert out there suggests mount CD manually. I do not know what is the exact device name for my cd rom drive. I have only one cd drive. Could anybody guide me the steps involved to mount the cd drive manually bypassing volume manager?
