How to modify (re-provision) already provisioned user in target system

I am new to OIM and I am trying to integrate it with my legacy application using Adapter Factory. I want use OIM to provision user to my application. I have already wrote an OIM Connector, and configured in OIM and provisioning is working as expected. But when I am modifying user in OIM (for example changing user's first name), I want to re-provision user, so that first name of use in my legacy application can also be updated automatically. But I am not sure how to do this in OIM 11g R2. I already have Process Definition desgined, and added a Java Task in it to update user (along with create user java task). I am not sure, on which condition, my java task will be triggered to re-provision user.
Should I modify the user in OIM, go to Accounts tab, select a account (application instance), and click on "Modify Accounts"; OR is there any other way to re-provision ?
