how to load text values to members in planning/essbase? (datatype = text)

Hello all,

Has anyone faced the problem of trying to load data to members that are defined as datatype text? Have you accomplished this thru smartview, or have you used something more complex, like DIM using Planning Adapter?

The user is able to enter data for this member thru Planning Web Form, and to retrieve it, but we have been unable to load data from a file.

We first tried to use excel add in, until we found out that essbase doesn't really store the text for the member, but instead it stores a reference for a planning relational table, where the text is actually stored. So, we are trying to use smartview to connect to planning application and load that member values, but we have been unable to do that.

Because of business requirements, we cannot use the cell text functionality from planning. We need to actually

So, any light in how to you solve this? did you use a ETL tool like ODI or DIM to load into planning? Used an Api?

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to mention we are using Planning 11.1.1.3 and EPMA.
