How to launch forms (Oracle Middleware Fusion) using Chrome version 45+ (Java plugin disabled) ?

Zada BouhabibAug 25 2015 — edited Sep 10 2015

Hello,

Some of our clients are facing a problem using Chrome (version 42+) in order to launch our application. The application is developed with Oracle forms. We are using Oracle Middleware Fusion. Chrome doesn't support anymore the NPAPI plugins and the JAVA plugin. Right now, it is disabled by default, but can be enabled manually. Starting September, this option won't exist anymore. This means the JAVA applet of Oracle Middleware Fusion won't open with Chrome. The clients insist on using Chrome.

My questions:

- Is there another way to launch forms without loading in JAVA applet ? If yes, how ?

- Is there any future plan to replace JAVA applet with other type of container in order to open forms ?

The R&D team is already migrating the application to ADF, but the roadmap of the project shows that the release date won't be in 2016. So we just need to find a solution for the coming 2 years.

Thank you in advance,

P.S.: Please let me know if this is the right forum where to ask this question. If not, please suggest.

Regards,

Zada
