how to install PL/PDF

Does anyone have experience installing PL/PDF software? Should I install it in the same schema that contains all the objects (tables, views, packages, ...)? Then, if I need to install it in other schema, does it mean that I have to grant privileges of these objects to the schema that hosts PL/PDF?
