How to insert sysdate as a default value in a form into the underlaying table?

Hi gurus,

I would like to insert sysdate, which is shown as a default value in a form into the underlaying database table, which is not possible at least for me.

Each time I try to do it I get nothing inserted.

Could you please tell me what I have to do??
