how to insert exact datetime in column in table?

Hi sir,

i have a table which column name is pdate which data type is date

now i am inserting value like this to_timestamp(2012/09/26 00:00:00.000, 'yyyy/MM/dd hh24:mi:ss.FF')

it's inserting the data but when i checking the value is coming like this 26-sep-2012

can't i store the same value here?

please help me.
