how to include white space in xsl to be dispalyed in html

Hi,

I am generating an html file using xsl, the xml file is generated using java.
the probleme is that I want to add space in my xsl page but it does not work I tried "&nbsp;" but the fact is, Iit is so displayed in html I also tried <[!CADATA[&nbsp;]]> but does not work also
please need help if anybody have an idea
