How to get timezone from the database

Dear experts,

Need your help again.

We are displaying timestamps in various forms in APEX.

Client has asked - to pad the time zone to that.

For ex: Currently we are showing something like this: 11-Jul-2014 10:25:01 AM.

Buy they wanted something like this: 11-Jul-2014 10:25:01 AM CDT

Hoe can we achieve this please?
