How to get apex-edit-pencil in the Interactive report with form

van Baal HRSep 6 2017 — edited Sep 14 2017

Hello you experts!

I am confronted with the following: in the database there exist two tables: one called possible_orders and one called shopping_cart. The order table has 7 primary key columns (I know a hell of a lot). The shopping_cart table is a detail of the possible_orders table (therefor it has 7 forreign key tables. Target is to have two APEX-pages: one todisplay the possible orders in an interactive report with the possibility to open the second page with the possibility to actually place an order. To reduce the problem of the 7 primary (forreign) key columns, I have added one colum to both tables, that contains the value of all seven columns. APEX is able to handle one column, but not seven.

To get this done, I have created a report with a form on a table. When both pages use the same table, all works fine. Unfortunately this is not possible, because the data come from the possible_orders and go to the shopping cart. In the latest effort, I built both pages on the shopping_cart table and changed the report source for the interactive report with a query on the possible_orders table. The consequence is that I can see all available orders but when I click the apex-edit-pencil displayed left from the records, the other page is opened with no data in it.

The great challenge I have to solve until tomorrow is to get the detail form to show the record from the master report. A good start would be to know how to put my finger on the apex-edit-pencil, that I can see during run time, but not during design time .

Please help!

Thank you very much.
