How to Generate xml Data Template

Hi,

I'm going through this note: How To Use an XML Publisher Data Template Instead of a Seeded Oracle Applications Concurrent Program (Doc ID 373364.1)

I would like to generate reports in EBS 12.1.3 using XML Publisher. I'm stuck at the stage of "Create a data template"

My question is: How can I generate a data template, from SQL Query? Do I have to manually design/develop the data template?
