How to generate ER diagram from existing db connection

Hi,
Apologies if this is an inane question - I've checked several tutorials but can't find anything that matches what I want to do.

I have an existing database and have configured its connection and connected in sql developer.
What is the easiest way to generate an ER diagram of the database (i.e. tables / relationships etc)

View/Data Modeller /Browser throws up a new pane but little else.
I guess I need to generate the diagram somehow.

Any help appreciated
