how to fix 'Target xx reducing sync..' & 'SCSI transport failed..'?

807559Nov 29 2001 — edited Nov 30 2001
After I installed Solaris 8 to Sun ultra-2, whenever I boot the machine I always get the following error messages:
****************first one **********************
Warning /sbus@1f, O/SUNW, fas@e, 8800000(fas0):
connected command timeout for target 0.0
Warning /sbus@1f, O/SUNW, fas@e, 8800000(fas0):
Target 0 reducing sync. transfer rate..
****************Second one******************
Warning /sbus@1f, O/SUNW, fas@e, 8800000(fas0):
connected command timeout for Target 5.0
Warning /sbus@1f, O/SUNW, fas@e, 8800000/sd@5.0(sd5):
SCSI transport failed; reason 'timeout': retrying command.

I have 1 controller and 7 target (0 to 5, 8 to 9). All of targets has got either first one or got second one randomly.

I installed solaris 8 software 1 without problem, but if I install solaris 8 software 2, the machine always gets crashed. Also when I installing Oracle 9i, the machine always gets crashed during the first 1% of total installation....

Very appreciated for any help & clue

Thanks

Vicky
