How to find the active init.ora file.

My current database version is 9.2.0.1. I need to locate the init.ora file that is actively being used by the database.
When I attempt to search through the files, I obtain too many files having the similar name and the same extension. (i.e. initdb.ora, etc...) I am in need of help in order to understand which file is the correct one.
