How to Expand the height of JTextarea dynamically

I m facing a typical problem in expanding the JTextArea component. I want to make it grow in height if the user types past its actual predefined size , i.e grow vertically as he types( if crossing past its boundaries). Also i cant use the scrollbars . Actually i m making a 'typetext' tool like the one available in MS-Paint / Photoshop. Plz help. I m not able to find events or methods to handle this anywhere.
