How to enable ftp from windows client PC and Suse Linux 9

Hi.

I'd like to know how to enable ftp from a windows client PC and Suse Linux 9. By default this service is not enable and connection is refused. There must be an easy way to open this port or use a similar service. Suppose Yast might help, however, any feedback is welcomed ...!
