How to deploy .war files

Hi All,
I have developed a simple web application using JApplet, Servlet, JDBC etc. I am using JDK 1.5.06 and Netbeans 5.0, Apache Tomcat server 5.5.
Through Netbeans IDE, I can build my project successfully. ( NetBeans --> Build --> Build Main Project) Now what to do, to run this application through Internet Explorer?
Frankly saying, I don't know how to deploy this .war files (or others), so that from a remote/client machine my friends also can access my web application?
Please help me, I am very new to this technology.
