How to delete members in the oprhan list for a version

How can I delete the orphan members for a particular version without having to delete them manually. I have close to 90000 members in that list and I can select only 5000 at a time.

I was hoping that if we copied the version to a new version it wouldn't bring in the orphan nodes but that does not seem to be the case..
