Oracle Database Discussions

Hi

I just start my database from no archive to archive log mode. I have given below parameter in my pfile

*.log_archive_format=log_%r_%s_%t.arch
*.log_archive_dest_1='location=/u04/VISARCH'


and started database. now my archive log is getting generating on the specified location.


-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 44860928 Jul 30 12:46 log_717520524_11749_1.arch
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 44793856 Jul 30 12:58 log_717520524_11750_1.arch
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 44794368 Jul 30 13:24 log_717520524_11751_1.arch
-rw-r----- 1 oracle dba 44794368 Jul 30 13:35 log_717520524_11752_1.arch


i just want to know,as i have not mention the size of archive log file on this location then how oracle determine the archive log size.
