How to dead connection detection (DCD) in Oracle 11g RAC?

Hi All,

I am very new to DB and assigned with a project for implementing a RAC. RAC was setup on RHEL5_x64 machine. Configured odbc connection from a windows machine to the db machine. (They can ping each other, there is no firewall involved)

With the help of lot of thread from oracle, I could find an option "sqlnet.expire_time=1" for configuring DCD. I've added the the option in "$ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/sqlnet.ora" file to configure DCD in our RAC.

But it seems like this option doesn't work with RAC. I tried it on my setup. All my attempts were failed. Also I've seen a thread stating that sqlnet.expire_time=1 doesn't work with RAC(571198

Could anyone hlep me in configuring DCD on RAC?
