How to create many-to-one mappings in DRM

BillENov 6 2015 — edited Nov 10 2015

We are using DRM to manage our chart of accounts dimensions/segments in our consolidated Finance systems.  There are many upstream systems that feed into Finance that require mapping to convert between data languages.  We are already using DRM to help us manage some one-to-one mappings through simple properties.  (Example: Cost Centre # 1234 in source system is mapped to 345678 in Finance chart).

We have some more complex requirements to solve for that we have not been able to solution with DRM:

1) map many source values into a single value within our chart of accounts.  Example: Cost Centres 1234, 2345, 3456, 4567 map into 6666777 in the Finance chart.

2) map dimension combinations within our Finance chart to other chart values.  In the example below, each of the individual dimension values already exists within hierarchies in DRM (ex. Business Entity 1234, Responsibility Centre 5678, etc.).  However, we need to be able to map different combinations of these values to other nodes within DRM (Financial Line, in this example).  This would not necessarily be one-to-one mapping, but there may be hundreds of combinations mapped to nodes in some cases.

Any thoughts?  It has been suggested that #2 can be solved using Associated Nodes, but I haven't been able to actually make it work in practice.

Thanks.
