Java EE (Java Enterprise Edition) General Discussion

Hi all,

I am using Tomcat on linux web hosting and want to write code for chat application.

I want to create chatrooms so that people who are registered with the website can chat with eachother under different sections(most probably
three sections.)

They could be able to send text aswell as voice messages to each other
when they are logged in.

I want to know which Java technology could be best suited for this type of application.

Could Servlets be used for this kind of chat facility or I have to use someother tool for it.

Please suggest.I will really appreciate your feedback.
