How to create APEX button to execute PL/SQL

This is probably a very basic question, but I'm pretty new to APEX so I hope someone can help. I want to add a button to an existing page of an APEX application, and execute a block of PL/SQL code when that button is clicked. Can anyone point me to a "how to" or give me some basic instructions? Thanks in advance!
