how to connect toad with oracle 10 g

Hai all,

I am novice to oracle can any one help me learning it. I am using windows 7 so I have some compatibility issues so i installed both oracle 10g and 11g, now i want to work with developer suite i am not able to install it because the one i downloaded was not compatible with windows 7. Is there any developer suite for windows 7 (x64 bit) available.

what is the role of sql developer, developer suite , sql * plus and toad. can any one explain. How can i connect my database with toad in my local system while connecting it is showing some tns name error. how can i connect please help me.
