Oracle Database Discussions

Dear all, i am working in make a report on my division, my company have Oracle Server 7.3 on an UNIX machine.

Usually i connect it with Oracle 7.3 Client on my Windows XP machine, creating a database alias with SQL Net Easy Configuration then create a System DSN in Data Sources (ODBC) Config. Panel and done. Using SQL+ with database alias or others application using System DSN to get data from Oracle DB to be reported to my bos.

But, now i have a Windows Vista machine, then i have read that Oracle 10g R2 Client the only one supported for this OS for now, in fact, Oracle 7.3 Client won't working after it installed, so on, i install Oracle 10g R2 on my Windows Vista Machine.

The problem is, how do i connecting to Oracle 7.3 Server Through Oracle 10g R2 Client ? Both Net Configuration Assistant and Net Manager are make me confuse, there were so much paramater to be setting up, When i trying to setting up, the connection is fail.

Please notice that i really newbie for this, does somebody can explain step by step to configuring it ?
