How to connect to Oracle 12c with SQLPLUS 6i

Hi Folks:

I have some folks that still need to use the SQLPlus 6i client. They were able to connect to our previous database (11g R2) ok. Folks that are using newer versions of SQLPlus can connect ok to the Oracle 12c database we are using.

Does anyone know what setting (and how) I would change in the Oracle 12c database to allow access to older version of SQLPlus?
