how to connect to Enterprise Manager 10g

560049Feb 22 2007 — edited Feb 27 2007
Hi,

I just installed Oracle 10g on a Window XP professional machine (call it the server machine) in my home network, I can get access to EM at http://columbia:1158/em and login as system successfully. Then I tried http://columbia:1158/em on a different client machine in the same network, IE can not even display the login page, saying that the server can not be found. However I can ping the server without any packet loss.

I tried http://192.168.1.101:1158/em, it doesn't work too.(where the 192.168.1.101 is columbia's IP address ).

I don't have any clue why the client can not get connected to Oracle server, while the server machine can use http protocol to connect to Oracle server of the server machine. It seems to be the http traffic is blocked in the network, but PING is working. My home network is configed with Linksys WRT54G as the hub/gateway, I check the router setup, I don't see any setting that's obviously blocking http traffic.

How to make the client machine to connect to Oracle database?
Please help,

Thanks a lot,
