how to connect gui interface with database

hi,

i am little new to application development in java..i would like to make a stand alone java application which has one form and taken in few data and the input data gets stored in mysql datatbase.

I will be using SWT eclipse for designing the GUI interface but dont know how to integrate it with database. Can any one suggest me how to do it or is there any step by step tutorial as how to do it.

Pls suggest
