How to configure logoffurl ??

Hi,
I have an SSO environment which successfully logs people in etc. However they cannot log out.
I have searched the posts and they all say to use the following in instanceconfig.xml :-

<LogoffUrl>url</LogoffUrl>

However, what i do not know is what the url is supposed to be ?

Do I have to create a web page for this to work, or is there a standard logout page to point to ??
Bit confused.

I would be grateful if somebody could give me an example
