How to check query how long running on server

Hi,

I am working as a junior DBA. Application team guys gives the SID of v$session and asking me that query how long running.
I am logging into ther server and getting PID and cpu utilization on unixbox, but unable to get he query duration.
Pls help hlep to get duration/how query running. Oracle verion is 9i.

SQL> select * from v$version;

BANNER
----------------------------------------------------------------
Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - Production
PL/SQL Release 9.2.0.8.0 - Production
CORE 9.2.0.8.0 Production
TNS for Solaris: Version 9.2.0.8.0 - Production
